The City of Hiawatha has contracted with LL Pelling Inc. from North Liberty for the repair and resurfacing of 12th Avenue from Blair’s Ferry Road to Lyndhurst Drive. The contractor plans to start work on September 3rd. The road will be closed and a detour established for approximately 7 days in order to prep the surface and install the first overlay. Access for local traffic only. The contractor will start the sidewalk ramp reconstruction on the south end and work to Lyndhurst Drive. This process will take approximately 4 weeks. The roadway will be open but construction equipment will be present. The road will be closed again on approximately October 15th for two days to install the final asphalt lift.
