Starting Wednesday, May 29, 2024, east-west vehicular traffic will shift from the south half of the intersection of 12th Ave & Boyson Rd to the north half. Traffic will be using the newly constructed north half of the roundabout. Lane widths will be reduced to 11’-0”. Traffic will not be allowed to go north on N. 12th St. Traffic in both the east and west bound lanes will be required to stop before entering the roundabout during this phase. Traffic should utilize the temporary traffic striping for lane usage. Access to Junge Automotive and Toyota will continue to use the temporary access driveways.
In addition, all vehicular traffic heading north and south on 12th Avenue shall use the detour signage that will direct traffic to Litchfield Dr and 15th Avenue. Access to Mercy Hospital and Wolf Eye Clinic will be maintained from 12th Avenue.
During Phase II, the south half of the reconstructed intersection will be completed. This includes the south half of the roundabout, eastbound lanes and 12th Avenue. Work also entails utility upgrades, crosswalks, lighting and site restoration.
This phase is expected to last up to eight weeks, weather pending. Thru traffic should expect delays. Please try to avoid the area during construction. All work for this project is anticipated to last through the month of August.
