Closures at Blairs Ferry and 42nd Street for Railroad Crossing Replacement

The Canadian National Railroad is replacing crossings on Blairs Ferry Rd NE and 42nd Street NE during the month of October. This will require the temporary, full closure of the roads during the replacement of the crossings. Railroad crossings consist of the rails and driving surface between the tracks.

Blairs Ferry Closure: October 16 – October 20, 2017 

Blairs Ferry Road NE will be closed at the railroad tracks just east of I-380, starting on Monday, October 16, 2017. The Canadian National Railroad will complete the replacement of the crossings in approximately five (5) days, weather permitting. All interstate ramps will remain open.

Detour routes include:

* Eastbound traffic to use the southbound interstate frontage road to the Collins Road interchange, east to Center Point Road, then north to Blairs Ferry Road.

* Westbound traffic to go south on Center Point Road to Collins Road, west to the northbound interstate frontage road to Blairs Ferry Road.

42nd Street Closure: October 23 – October 27, 2017     

42nd Street NE will be closed at the railroad tracks just east of I-380, starting on Monday, October 23, 2017. The Cedar Valley Nature Trail will also be closed north of 42nd Street. The Canadian National Railroad will complete the replacement of the crossings in approximately five (5) days, weather permitting. All interstate ramps will remain open.

Detour routes include:

* Eastbound traffic to use the northbound interstate frontage road to Collins Road interchange, east to Center Point Road and south to 42nd Street.

* Westbound traffic to go north on Center Point Road to Collins Road, taking southbound interstate frontage road and 42nd Street.
